Kids BJJ

Cibolo parents tell us the same things: 'I want my kid to be more confident,' 'I need them to focus,' 'I want them to be able to stand up for themselves.' That's exactly why our kids' program exists. Children age 3 through 13 train in age-specific groups — Tiny Champions, Little Champions I & II, and Juniors. For homeschool families, we run combined-age classes every Monday and Wednesday at 10 AM, so siblings can train together and the session counts toward homeschool physical education.

For kids after school, the weeknight schedule runs 4:45-6:30 PM with age-specific groups — Tiny Champions, Little Champions I and II, and Juniors. Adults and teens train Mon/Wed/Fri at 6:30 PM and Saturday at 10 AM. Five minutes from Bentwood Ranch, Deer Creek, and Steele Canyon; a short drive from Schertz, Selma, Universal City, and JBSA-Randolph. At Gracie Barra Cibolo, we train adults, kids as young as 3, and women looking for practical self-defense. No prior experience is needed. The Gracie Barra curriculum is structured so that complete beginners learn alongside experienced practitioners in a safe, controlled environment.

What should I expect at my first class?

Arrive about 10 to 15 minutes early at 2251 FM 1103, Suite 106, Cibolo. The front desk will get you checked in and answer any questions. Wear comfortable athletic clothing — shorts or sweatpants and a t-shirt. Professor Edgar or one of the coaches will walk you through a warm-up, demonstrate techniques step by step, and pair you with an experienced training partner. There is no pressure to spar on your first day. Your first class is free.

What do I need to wear to train?

For your first visit to Gracie Barra Cibolo, any clean athletic clothing works — a t-shirt with shorts or sweatpants. If you decide to continue, you will need a Gracie Barra gi (uniform) for gi classes, or a rash guard and grappling shorts for no-gi sessions. The front desk can help you get fitted and order the right size.

How much do classes cost?

Gracie Barra Cibolo offers several membership options depending on how often you want to train and which programs you join. Your first class is always free — no commitment, no obligation. After that, call us at (830) 205-3222 or stop by the academy to discuss which plan fits your schedule and goals. We are happy to walk you through everything in person.

Gracie Barra Cibolo is located at 2251 FM 1103, Suite 106, Cibolo, TX 78108 — near FM 1103 near I-10, in Cibolo Valley Square plaza. Free parking in the Cibolo Valley Square plaza lot, shared with H-E-B and neighboring tenants. We serve families from Bentwood Ranch, Deer Creek, Cibolo Valley, and Riata Oaks, and the surrounding area.

What age groups do you offer classes for?

We have programs for every age. Tiny Champions is for children ages 3 to 5. Little Champions covers ages 6 through 9. Juniors & Teens is for ages 10 to 14. Adult classes start at 16 and up, with no upper age limit. Professor Edgar and the coaching staff at Gracie Barra Cibolo tailor instruction to each group so everyone trains at the right level.
